“Terra cotta” is an Italian word meaning "baked earth”. Terra Cotta is the porous red clay ceramic, commonly used for flower pots. Another use of Terra Cotta is the notable sculpture –the Chinese Terracotta Army. Terra Cotta has been used throughout history for sculpture, pottery, bricks & roof shingles.
Ralph hand works his refined Terra Cotta clay into these desired one-of-a-kind sculptures. Each finely sculpted piece is then dried, fired in a kiln, and either left natural or glazed and re-fired.
These Terra Cotta pieces are not waterproof, but they are suitable for home collections, garden ware or building decoration in tropical environments.
