Skidding in a Turn...

1929 Mercedes, Brazilian Steatite

This Mercedes-Benz SSK stone carving by Crawford is a roadster built by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz between 1928 and 1932. The Mercedes-Benz SSK  got its name from an abbreviation of "Super Sport Kurz", the German word for "Super Sport Short", because it has a shortened wheelbase from the earlier Mercedes-Benz S. The SSK's fantastic performance and many competitive successes made it one of the most highly regarded sports cars of its time.
